How do I import my existing bookings and calendar data from iCal, Google Calendar, or Airbnb?
Add your outside platform's iCal feed URL to Mallard Bay's calendar/availability settings for ongoing sync (this blocks dates but doesn't create full booking records). For complete historical bookings, export a CSV and send it to onboarding/support to map in.
You can bring calendar data into Mallard Bay in two main ways, depending on what you’re trying to move over.
Use an iCal calendar feed from your outside system.
General flow:
- Go to the outside platform, such as Google Calendar, Airbnb, or another booking tool.
- Find the calendar’s iCal expor
- In Mallard Bay, go to the calendar or listing availability settings.
- Add the iCal URL as an external calendar feed.
- Review the imported blocked dates to make sure they match.
This is best for keeping outside reservations from double-booking your Mallard Bay availability.
An iCal feed may only block availability and may not create full booking records with customer, payment, lodging, or trip details.
For full existing bookings, you’ll usually want to:
- Export bookings from your old system as a CSV/spreadsheet if possible.
- Make sure it includes:
- Customer name
- Phone
- Trip/listing name
- Start date
- End date
- Party size
- Amount paid/ balancedue, if available
- Notes
- Share that file with your Mallard Bay onboarding or support team so they can help map the data correctly.
Airbnb calendar exports are usually useful for blocking dates, but they may not include all guest/payment details needed to create complete Mallard Bay bookings.
Before relying on it, check whether you need:
- Just blocked availability
- Full booking records
- Customer/contact records
- Payment history
If you want, I can help you make a migration checklist for your current system before you import anything.
